Luis Cansino will embody a powerful and vocally resonant Fra Melitone that I liked so much at the Liceu a year ago and will triumph again these days in Bilbao with his unique character, which Verdi did not want to do without despite being told to eliminate him, but Verdi insisted that Fra Melitone was essential in La forza del destino.

Avec La force du destin, l'ABAO Bilbao Opera inaugure sa nouvelle saison en octobre, proposant l'un des opéras les plus puissants et les plus complexes de Verdi, une œuvre qui explore l'amour, l'honneur, la culpabilité et l'inexorable main du destin.

Ce drame en quatre actes raconte l'histoire tragique de Leonora, fille du marquis de Calatrava, et de Don Álvaro, un noble d'origine inca.
